The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is calling for applications from both qualified graduates and post-graduates to join as Direct Short Service Cadets in various professions. If you have what it takes to serve the country in this force, then the Commission has provided details of the application process that will help applicants. The promising thing is that this exercise will be free and fair. Due to the promised transparency, eligible people are encouraged to submit their applications.
Nigerian Air Force DSSC Recruitment Policy
The NAF has a welcoming recruitment that considers only the most qualified candidates. There will be no room for job racketeering. Like the federal government of Nigeria, the Commission does not encourage any form of payment in exchange for a slot.
The entire registration and recruitment process is free. Applicants are advised not to make any payments at any stage of the process.
Nigerian Air Force DSSC Recruitment Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must be Nigerian by birth.
- Minimum height is 1.66m for males and 1.63m for females.
- Applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit.
- Applicants must have no previous convictions on criminal grounds.
- Applicants must be aged between 20 and 30 years. Candidates born before 27 September 1995 are not eligible. Exceptions include: Medical Consultants (25 to 40 years. Candidates born before 27 September 1985 are not eligible).
- This exercise does not cover serving military personnel seeking Branch Commission.
- Applicants must hold Minimum Grade of Second Class Upper Division for degree holders and Upper Credit for HND holders.
- Credit in English Language, Mathematics, and three additional credits in subjects relevant to the applicant’s course of study.
- Computer literacy is an added advantage.
- Applicants must possess a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Discharge Certificate or Letter of Exemption. Where applicable, applicants must also have full registration with statutory professional bodies in Nigeria.
Nigerian Air Force DSSC Recruitment Application Process
Interested and qualified candidates must apply online at www.nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng. Applications are free of charge. Candidates must ensure they carefully read and follow all instructions before filling out the application form.
Each applicant is allowed to submit only one application. Once submitted, no corrections can be made. Multiple applications will lead to disqualification.

After completing the online application, eligible candidates must print the following documents:
- Local Government Area Attestation Form (must be signed by a Military/Police Officer (not below the rank of Wing Commander or equivalent), Local Government Chairman/Secretary, Magistrate, or Principal of the applicant’s secondary school).
- Parent/Guardian Consent Form.
- Attestation of Good Character Form.
- Acknowledgment Form.
These documents will not be generated for invalid applications.
The Online registration starts on 14 October 2024 and closes on 26 November 2024. There will the be a Zonal Aptitude Test that will be conducted. The date will be communicated via the NAF Recruitment portal.
Here is s checklist of things applicants should take note of:
- The Attestation Form must be accompanied by a passport photograph of the signee.
- A photocopy of the signee’s Driver’s Licence, International Passport, or National ID Card must also be included.
- The signee must authenticate the applicant’s passport photograph.
