Kwara TESCOM has invited 9,459 applicants to take a computer-based test (CBT) on Saturday, February 22, 2025. These candidates successfully completed their online application and met the requirements for the ongoing teachers’ recruitment. The Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) will send text messages to the shortlisted applicants on Monday, February 17.
Recall the Kwara State TESCOM Teachers Recruitment Portal was only recently closed.
According to Mallam Bello Taoheed, TESCOM Chairman, only applicants with qualifications such as B.Ed., B.Sc. Ed., B.A. Ed., or a bachelor’s degree in relevant subjects with educational qualifications were invited. Initially, 26,349 candidates started the process, but many were disqualified due to age limits or missing qualifications. In total, 11,617 completed the application, and 9,459 made it to the next phase.
Of the shortlisted candidates, 87.95% (8,319) are from Kwara State, while 12.05% (1,140) are non-indigenes. Around 45.80% (4,332) of the applicants are for STEM subjects. Gender distribution shows that 4,709 (49.78%) are male, and 4,750 (50.22%) are female. Additionally, 40 persons living with disabilities (PLWD) are among the shortlisted applicants, with 31 of them being Kwarans. Authorities promise to give special care to PLWD candidates during the test.
The CBT will take place at various centres, including Thomas Adewunmi University in Oko, the Kwara State College of Health Technology in Offa, and other locations in Ilorin, Lafiagi, and Patigi. Applicants must visit the portal to select the centre nearest to them and print their exam slip after being assigned a test time.
Candidates are advised to arrive at their CBT venue at least one hour before their test begins. They must also bring their printed examination slip and conduct themselves properly, as their behaviour during the test will be part of the assessment for the job.
