The Kwara State Teaching Service Commission, TESCOM, has given approval for Kwara State teachers recruitment. The registration will take place online on www.tescom.kw.gov.ng. Wait, don’t rush to open the portal yet because there’s a lot you need to know.
TESCOM is calling on qualified applicants to apply for teaching jobs in Senior Secondary Schools across the state. A total of 1,800 teaching positions are available. There are also 100 non-teaching positions and 200 school security guard vacancies.
Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has approved this recruitment to help improve education, especially in rural areas where there are not enough teachers.

This recruitment focuses on hiring teachers for specific subjects. Teachers of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects will be given priority. However, there are also vacancies in Art and Commercial subjects. Below is a list of the required subject areas:

Kwara State Teachers Recruitment Requirements 2025/2026
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Applicant must have a university bachelor’s degree in education or a university degree in the subject they want to teach.
- You must be a holder of BSc. Ed, B.A. Ed, BSc plus PGDE or NCE.
- HND holders in relevant subjects can also apply if they have a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).
- Must have at least 5 O’Level Credit Passes in not more than two sittings. These must include Mathematics and English Language.
- Applicant should have a teaching certificate such as B.Ed, BSc. Ed, BA Ed, or NCE.
- Possess NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
- You must be willing to work in any part of the state, including rural areas.
- Applicant must be certified medically fit for work by a recognized Government Hospital.
- Registration with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) is an added advantage.
- Applicant must not be older than 35 years as of January 31, 2025.
- Anyone who displays behavior unsuitable for a teacher or role model will be disqualified.
How to Apply for Kwara State Teachers Recruitment 2025/2026
If you meet the requirements and have strong Internet connection, follow these steps to apply:
- Visit the official application portal at https://tescom.kw.gov.ng.
- Fill out the application form and upload your recent passport photo.
- Upload a valid means of identification such as a National ID card, Driver’s License, International Passport, or Voter’s Card, academic certificates, certificate of your Local Government of Origin, and proof of Local Government of Residence.
- Print out the acknowledgment slip after completing your application. You must bring this slip to every stage of the recruitment process.
Applicants will take a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and a drug test. Only candidates who pass the CBT and meet the cutoff mark will proceed to the next stage.
There will be oral interviews and certificate screening for those who pass the CBT and meet the cutoff mark. Shortlisted candidates will also undergo peer teaching (teaching practice) as part of the selection process. The venue for this will be announced later.
When is Kwara State Teachers Application Portal Closing Date?
Kwara State TESCOM teachers recruitment deadline date is not yet known. The application will remain open for two (2) weeks from the date it is announced. It will close at 12:00 am midnight on the final day.
Applicants who are successful at each stage will be notified via SMS. Be sure to check your phone regularly for updates.
If you do not meet the requirements, do not apply. Only those who qualify will be invited to the test and other stages of the recruitment process. Get ready and apply as soon as the application portal opens.
