- Two white shirts, one blue shirt, a black tie, and a black belt.
- Two pairs of national dress or suits, and casual wear.
- Two pairs each of white canvas trainers, white socks, black socks, and one pair of black laced shoes.
- One wristwatch, a swimming trunk, and toiletries.
- Two white bed sheets, pillowcases, and a blanket (grey or army green).
- Two sets of cutlery and a pressing iron.
- Female candidates must also bring: one pair of black low-heel cover shoes, two black lounge suits and one pair of trouser suits, and two black shorts.
- Serving personnel must present release letters and passes from their commanders or commanding officers.
Successful candidates must report to the NDA on the stipulated date. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of their slots to reserve candidates. However, reserve candidates are instructed not to report to the NDA unless contacted. The date that Vacancies for reserve candidates will close is not yet known until announced.
